The Saga Continues...

...And no, Thomas Jefferson School of Law alum Anna Alaburda isn't fighting her unemployment through ugly t-shirts. Her weapon of choice? The courtroom. Ms. Alaburda, who graduated from TJSL in 2008 with honors, today works as a document reviewer and blames her post-grad status on "misleading" US News stats that she claims induced her to attend TJSL. The suit seeks class action status and $50 million in damages for a class of around 2,300 TJSL students. Something here just doesn't seem quite right.

Wear It: Gabriele Colangelo Spring 2011

Photos: Style.com
LC is B-A-C-K!!!! (Ok, so maybe LC wasn't ever actually really "gone" but instead was on a little law school-law clerking-final exams-bridesmaid hiatus...)

But, to ring in the summer (ahem, Memorial Day weekend) and to pay tribute to three glorious months left of  getting away with wearing white, I wanted to share a few of my favorites from Gabriele Colengelo's Spring 2011 Ready to Wear Collection. I love the tailored, clean and sleek style of these pieces. They can go with about anything...especially a good tan.

"Old money's out...

Photos: The Wall Street Journal
...and the Converse-sneaker-clad social networkers are in."

A friend of mine (thanks BigJim!) passed this WSJ article along--"Jacket (Not) Required"--and LC had to share. It's sad that three-piece-suits, fedoras, and neckties are part of a dying era, an era where men and women dressed to a (classy) T in all that they did. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating for a return to the June-Cleaver-way-of-life...I can think of a few better things I would rather do than vacuum the house in pearls and a crisply pressed skirt. However, there is a time and a place for everything, including neckties at dinner...

Love It : Oh, Dear Molly

Photos: Oh, Dear Molly
I stumbled across these fun prints (thanks, Twitter!) and had to share. UK based Oh, Dear Molly offers an eye-catching selection of print artwork catered to all tastes...sort of Andy Warhol meets 2011. Love it!

Legally Rugged : Spring Style Preview

Photos: GQ.com
Drumroll, please. LC would like to introduce its first substantive post devoted solely to our male readers: Legally Rugged.  Today's topic: spring style. I love GQ's profile of what's hot in men's fashion right now. Favorites? Woven belts, pastel socks and brown on blue color combos. It's all about texture and color...done in moderation, of course.

The pros of Pro Bono

Photo: C. Aluka Berry/The State
Yesterday The State ran an inspiring article about USC's own Pam Robinson and the law school's Pro Bono Program. Yes, I know that LC may be a bit biased in sharing this article considering LC's ties to the school.... Nonetheless, USC's Pro Bono Program (as with all pro bono programs out there) deserves, to say the least, a pat on the back. It's rewarding to catch a glimpse of just a few of the ways in which legal professionals across the country give back to their communities.  All too often, lawyers and the legal field get labeled with--ummmm, how to put this nicely?!?--not so great stereotypes.  Thus, it's refreshing and encouraging when the positives of the profession are rightfully recognized

For everyone who serves in any way, shape, or form, thanks for all you do...and keep it up!
